| Description The FreeShare Software Suite consists of a client and a server. With the server, an individual, company or institution can set up an online hub where other users, using the FreeShare Client, can engage in meaningful, real-time chat, project collaboration, news reading and posting, and client-to-server file transfers. Servers can be either private or public, depending upon your needs. Based upon the Hotline protocol, and the Openline open source code, the FreeShare Software Suite is similar in functionality to other client-server packages, but boasts an impressive feature set, and an updated GUI, which leaves the older software in the dust. Packed With Features While the FreeShare Client and Server Software Suite is similar to the original Hotline software, the FreeShare Software Suite enjoys a unique feature set which you will not find in the older Hotline, Openline and Underline releases. In addition to a brand new splashscreen, many new toolbar and window icons, (what we refer to as "logical icons"), this includes: On The Admin Side: 1. Client users can be forced to either post in the public chat window, or else in the news, before being able to download. This is a great way to stop annoy-ing download bots, such as Pitbull users, etc. It is very effective. 2. The FreeShare server can refuse connections from users who have private chat and/or private messaging disabled in their preferences. The server will send the user a message advising them why they are being prohibited from logging onto the server. 3. The FreeShare server can ban by both IP address, as well as by specific usernames. 4. The FreeShare server has 10 tracker registration slots, as opposed to the original five in the old Hotline server. 5. The FreeShare server admin can enable or disable kicks/bans by the admin from being announced in the public chat window. 6. The FreeShare server has an Admin-editable, global login message. This message can be posted in the user's public chat window, sent as a private message to the user with both Reply and Dismiss buttons, sent as a private message to the user with just a Dismiss button, or sent to the user as a Broadcast message. This message can be up to 255 characters in length. 7. The "temporary ban delay", (how long a user is temporarily banned), is Admin-definable. 8. The "away delay", (how long before the user is grayed out), is Admin-definable. 9. The "incorrect login message" is Admin-definable. This message can be up to 255 characters in length. 10. The "chat before downloading" message to the user is Admin-definable. This message can be up to 255 characters in length. 11. The "post in news before downloading" message to the user is Admin-definable. This message can be up to 255 characters in length. 12. The kick message which is sent to users who have private messaging and/or private chat disabled is Admin-definable. This message can be up to 255 characters in length. 13. The "banned user name" message which is sent to users who use a login name which is banned on your server is Admin-definable. This message can be up to 255 characters in length. 14. The length of the server description which appears on trackers can be 255 characters long. 15. The admin can set a user to "fake red" status. 16. The admin can make a user visible or invisible. 17. The admin can block a user's download. 18. The admin can change a user's name and icon while they are logged into the server. 19. The admin can change the user's "away" status. 20. Separate folder icons for uploads folders and drop boxes. On The User Side: 1. The user can set the client to automatically agree to a server's "Agreement". 2. The user can disable the client's startup splashscreen. 3. The user can refuse server broadcasts. 4. All FreeShare Client toolbars and windows sport many new easy-to-understand "logical icons" not found in any other Hotline client or Hotline client clone. 5. As of this writing, over 77 original WunderWerkz Software User Icons not found in any other Hotline client or Hotline client clone.
