Who Is The WordWeaver? -- A Short Biography

The WordWeaver is the pseudonym, or nom de plume, of the enigmatic webmaster, administrator and founder of the Endtime Prophecy Net Christian outreach ministry. He is also the primary author of the many articles and series which are found on the Endtime Prophecy Net website. While little is known about him because he prefers to live a rather private, quiet, reclusive life, some information can be garnered from reading the many articles and series which he has published on the Internet over the past fifteen plus years. What can be ascertained from said sources is contained in the information below.
WordWeaver's Early LifeLittle is known about the WordWeaver's early childhood other than what he has revealed in his writings. For example, he was not active in sports, and in fact detested them. He was an avid book reader, particularly in the areas of mystery, the natural sciences, and science fiction. He was shy and introverted, and spent many hours alone taking long hikes into the wooded areas which surrounded his boyhood homes. While other boys would be playing baseball or some other sport, the WordWeaver would be peering into his microscope, or gazing up at the stars through a friend's telescope. In his articles the WordWeaver writes:
| At any rate, I was your typical bespectacled young kid who was deeply involved in reading a lot of books; particularly those which dealt with mystery -- such as the Hardy Boys -- and all types of science. I also owned a small battery-operated microscope, a spotting scope, a mineral collection, a seashell collection, a collection of cards which contained photographs of, and information on, different wild birds, and other such things which young boys my age cherished. I was also into playing with dinosaurs, and I often wondered about cavemen. I was your typical nature freak and greatly enjoyed exploring the woods and streams of the surrounding area where I lived. Observing wildlife really excited me. Sometimes I would roam for hours just looking for something new to discover, overturning rocks hoping to find a new kind of snake, looking in streams for crayfish and salamanders, etc. Unlike where I currently live, we had all kinds of interesting animals to see such as groundhogs, rabbits, bats, raccoons, snakes, possums and such. There were also a multitude of birds including robins, sparrows, cardinals, bluejays, a variety of woodpeckers, hummingbirds, chickadees, wild canaries, hawks, starlings, wrens, pheasants and the like. I simply connected with nature while other young boys my age were more into playing with marbles, toy soldiers and baseball cards, or else going to school sporting events, etc. In a way, I think I already knew then that I was different from most other kids. I was just a shy little boy lost in his own little world of scientific wonder and mystery. Looking back at it now, I am sure it must have been the Lord revealing His Power and Might to me through the wonders of His Creation, for as we are told by Paul in his Epistle to the Romans: |
"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"

WordWeaver's EducationContrary to what some people may possibly be led to believe, the WordWeaver is a man of scant education. In his articles he reveals that he graduated from high school with a "B" average; and that due in part to the fact that his family was very poor, he never attended any college or university. Furthermore, unlike many high-profile preachers and Christian book authors, he never attended a Bible college. In short, he possesses no degrees from either secular universities, or from Bible seminaries. While at first glance, some people may look upon these facts as being detrimental to his later work in life as a Christian evangelist and teacher, and may even question the worth of his many writings, from his point of view, the WordWeaver believes that his lack of worldly education serves as a testimony to the Power of God's Spirit working in a person's life. Furthermore, he is of the opinion that God prefers to use people of low degree, and of little education, in order that He may be exalted. In short, the WordWeaver is convinced that God can use anyone who is yielded to His Spirit, regardless of their lack of worldly credentials, as is clearly evident in the Scriptures. The WordWeaver writes:
| Let me remind you again that I am not that smart of a man. I graduated from high school decades ago with a "B" average grade level. In addition, I have never attended any college, university or theological seminary. I am not familiar with most of their theological jargon, fancy labels and catch phrases with which they like to stuff their heads over the course of a few years. Neither am I a priest, or a pastor, or an ordained minister. In short, I am uneducated as far as the ways of the world are concerned. It is for this reason that I wrote such articles as "The Only Credentials You Need" and "The Wisdom Of God vs The Philosophy Of Men". It was my desire to inspire those of you who may feel that God can't use you, because you have been made to feel totally inadequate by the children of the world, who boast of their seminary degrees, and their long list of other credentials. |

WordWeaver's Theological ViewsIn a religious sense, the WordWeaver views himself as a free-thinking, independent Christian individual. Some Christians may view him as a maverick. Quite a few years ago, he became disillusioned with, and in fact chose to abandon organized religion; that is, the American church system. To this day, he is not affiliated with any organized, structural form of Christianity. As he explains in his many articles, the WordWeaver holds the view that denominationalism serves as a mechanism which only fuels division amongst Christian believers, which totally contradicts the spirit and intent of the Apostle Paul's words, as found in 1 Corinthians 1:10:
"Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

Therefore, the WordWeaver has chosen to avoid denominationalism, in order to remain on theological neutral ground. He believes that in this way, he can better identify with, and reach, a larger body of people, as he will not be viewed as promoting the doctrines of one particular church, which would hamper his evangelical endeavors.
Yet at the same time, the WordWeaver does not condemn those who feel a need to attend church services on a regular basis, if that is their chosen form of fellowship. However, for many years, he has also been a strong advocate of "church-in-the-home", which offers a more intimate form of Christian fellowship, and which, in his view, adheres more closely to the pattern of the Early Church of the New Testament period.
Despite his own rejection of the American church system and the religion of his youth -- he was baptized and confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church -- the WordWeaver still maintains strong faith in the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and teaches it incessantly via his online ministry. The WordWeaver presents himself as a King James Bible advocate who embraces the doctrine of "Sola Escritura"; meaning that he believes that the Bible is the sole authority for establishing and confirming our Christian beliefs, and not the pope in Rome, or anyone else.
In accordance with such verses as John 14:6, Acts 4:12, 1 Timothy 2:5, Ephesians 2:8-9 and Romans 11:6, the WordWeaver firmly believes that Salvation and Eternal Life is a free Gift which we receive by the Grace of God alone through faith in the atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He is convinced by the Scriptures that Salvation cannot be obtained through our supposedly "good works". In short, he embraces the doctrine of "Sola Fide", or faith alone.
Furthermore, the WordWeaver firmly believes that it is the duty of all Bible-believing Christians to be a strong witness of their faith in accordance with Romans 10:9-10 and related "Great Commission" verses. The WordWeaver also firmly believes in the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit, in the Resurrection of the Dead, in the Rapture of the Saints, in the Great Tribulation, in the Millennial Rule of Jesus Christ, and in other Endtime events, as they are described in the pages of the Bible.
Unlike the Roman Catholic Church, and certain other denominations, the WordWeaver rejects the necessity of water baptism as a prerequisite for obtaining Salvation, or for receiving the Holy Spirit, and he is not a Trinitarian, being as he finds no valid support for the "Holy Trinity" doctrine in the Scriptures.
WordWeaver's Political ViewsTo say the least, it is difficult to classify the WordWeaver in a political sense. While he clearly does not embrace many of the liberal policies of the American Democratic Party, nevertheless, his articles make clear that, like many other Christians, he laments the plight of the poor, the elderly, the sick and the disadvantaged. While one may be tempted to stereotype the WordWeaver as a member of the Conservative Right, again, while he embraces some of their viewpoints regarding such issues as embryonic stem cell research, abortion, and gay and lesbian rights, to name a few, nevertheless, he is strongly opposed to some of the policies of the Republican Party as well. For example:
| • He is solidly against all forms of war and violence, and attributes such things in large part to greed. (Matthew 5:9, Psalm 37:11, James 4:1) |
| • He condemns the greed of Big Business and the negative effects it has had on the environment, as well as on people's lives. (Jeremiah 2:7, Revelation 11:18) |
| • He accepts Global Warming as a scientific reality and is environmentally conscious. (Revelation 16:8) |
| • He appears to have never served in the U.S. military, and advocates patient diplomacy over brute force. |
| • He deplores the deterioration in American civil liberties, and the lack of respect for, and the gross misinterpretation of, the U.S. Bill of Rights. |
| • He seriously doubts the reasons given for, and the legitimacy behind, the Iraq War of 2003, which has resulted in the needless death of hundreds of thousands of civilians. |
| • He strongly opposes extraordinary rendition, preemptive strikes, regime change, and other methods and practices which are used to force the will of the United States of America upon other sovereign nations. This also includes calculated "trade wars". |
| • He condemns illegal domestic spying in the so-called name of national security. |
| • He deplores the concerted efforts to remove God from government, from the public school system, and in general, from public life as a whole. He believes that to divorce ourselves from our Creator is to basically seal our own doom, and sign our own death warrant. |
WordWeaver's Views On ScienceThe WordWeaver embraces the "Young Earth" position, and accepts as true the literal account of Creation which is found in the Book of Genesis, thus making him a Creationist. He supports the promotion of "Intelligent Design" as a plausible, acceptable, and in fact probable alternative to Darwinian evolution, which he soundly rejects. While he recognizes the many benefits which science and technology have contributed to modern society, nevertheless, he also views science and technology as a two-edged sword which can both help humanity, as well as destroy it. One clear example which he provides in his writings is that science has given us the artificial heart, but it has also given us the nuclear bomb and other weapons of mass destruction. While he chastises those scientists who reject God and the Biblical account, he also believes that true, honest science will only serve to verify and confirm what is written in the Bible, insofar as scientific principles are discussed in the Scriptures.
WordWeaver's Missionary EndeavorsIn his younger days, more than thirty years ago, the WordWeaver was a world-traveling Christian missionary and evangelist for a period of some fifteen years. In the works which he has authored, the WordWeaver has never revealed with exactitude which church he was associated with, or how his missions abroad were financed; however, his writings suggest that it was probably evangelical in nature, and that he subsisted in large part on charitable donations. His hesitancy to discuss this issue is based primarily upon his belief that to share this information would result in unjustified bias against his current work for the Lord, being as his former associations of decades ago were, and continue to be, the subject of some controversy within the Christian world. Churches, denominations and religious organizations always seem to find fault with each other, whether it is justifiable criticism or not.
According to his own account, and the hints which are randomly dispersed throughout his writings, beginning in the very early 1970's, the WordWeaver began traveling all across the continental United States of America preaching the Word of God to whoever would listen. Eventually, he traveled to Mexico to continue his evangelistic endeavors, where he became proficient in reading, writing and speaking Mexican Spanish. This was assisted by the fact that he studied Spanish three years in High School. Six years later, he returned to the United States -- primarily the Texas-Mexico border area -- where he spent some three years preaching the Word of God before hearing the missionary call to the Far East.
During the early 1980's he visited many cities in Japan, where he learned to speak basic Japanese, and to read and write Hiragana and Katakana. During that period of his life, he also embarked on a brief visit to South Korea. Desiring a warmer climate after enduring the cold winters of northern Japan, he next turned his attention to the islands of the West Pacific. After this period, the trail of his travels seems to grow cold. What is known, however, is that with advancing age, he chose a more placid life dedicated to writing his many articles, which he has continued to do to this day.
WordWeaver's Online Presence And PseudonymSometime in late 1993, the WordWeaver began an online writing ministry -- initially via BBS'ing, (Bulletin Board System) -- which ultimately resulted in the founding of the first version of the Endtime Prophecy Net web site in the Spring of 1997. For personal reasons, at the time that he first decided to share his articles publicly, he chose to publish his work under a pseudonym; and thus he acquired the name by which he has become known for the past sixteen years -- the WordWeaver. In explaining why he chose to use this particular nom de plume, the WordWeaver wrote the following:
| Whenever I am confronted with such situations where my advice is requested, my first reaction is to seek the Lord in prayer; as I certainly don't want to give my answers, but rather the Lord's answers. If there's one thing I emphasize over and over again in my writings, it is that God not only knows the answers, but He has also already given many of them to us; and those answers can be found in His Holy Word, the Bible. It is for this very reason that we are admonished that, just as the Lord esteems His Word above His very Name, we should also esteem His Word in our lives even more than our necessary food. As it is written in the Bible: |
"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."

But there's a problem. While many Christians obviously know this to be true, due to time constraints, or perhaps due to a lack of skill in the Word of the Lord, they are not always able to find the answers that they need in the Bible; thus, they require the help of someone who is more familiar with it. This is precisely where I can be of help. Like many other archeologists of the Word of God, I have simplified the work for some Christians by mining God's wonderful Gold for them, and by clearing away the piles of theological rubble and the doctrines of men which have buried the truth for literally centuries. Once I have extracted this precious Gold, I have then associated certain nuggets, or verses of Scripture, with others, in order to show how they fit together. |
My work is likewise very similar to what one does on a weaver's loom, or else when one crochets a certain pattern into a piece of fabric. Each verse in the Bible is like a different colored piece of thread. To a novice in the Word of God, these various strands may at first appear to be thrown together in one large, unorganized pile of confusion. He may stare at this huge pile in bewilderment, not having the slightest idea as to where to begin to sort out all of the various colors, so that he can weave them together into the proper pattern. Picking up a thread at a time, over the years, this is precisely what I have done. As each new thread, or verse, has been woven into the fabric, the Biblical pattern has become clearer and clearer. Many of us believe that we are now at a point in history, where that pattern may soon find its completion with the Return of Jesus Christ. This act of creating the pattern one step at a time, by weaving Bible verses together, is clearly revealed in the Scriptures, as we see here: |

Considering what I do then -- weave God's Word together -- it seemed only appropriate that I should choose the pseudonym of The WordWeaver. I hope you agree. |
Given the previous explanation, "The WordWeaver" seems to be a fitting pseudonym for this mysterious, and apparently shy, yet very opinionated, Christian writer who has raised the eyebrows of more than a few people over the years with some of his unorthodox and outside-of-the-box teachings, and in some cases, speculations.
WordWeaver's ArticlesAs noted earlier, most of the articles that are found on the Endtime Prophecy Net web site were authored by the WordWeaver. It is evident from reading some of them that a great deal of time -- many years in fact -- energy and research has gone into their creation; and their volume is considerable. The articles, which are in a constant state of being updated, are carefully researched, thought-provoking, challenging, inspiring, and in some cases, offensive, depending upon one's own belief system and personal views. In all cases, the WordWeaver's primary motivation has been to share the truth, as he views it. In the end, he believes that who he is, or where he is from, or where he now resides, or any other private information concerning his person, is of little importance. What is important, in his view, is what he has to say to the world via his writings. If his readers can identify with his articles, and learn something of value from them, and are touched by them, and are inspired and motivated by them, and their lives are perhaps even changed by them, then in the WordWeaver's mind, he has fulfilled the mission which God has called him to do.
