About Kids Christian Corner
Hello, and welcome to the About This Site web page! I'm Chica4Jesus, and I am the webmistress of this web site. This web site was created during late '97.
You're probably wondering why this web site was created. Well, my dad started his web site, Endtime Prophecy Net, on May 15, 1997, and put many things he had written on his web site.
Being a computer addict myself, (*grin*), I got curious about making web sites and writing articles and that kind of stuff. So I wrote my first article, Truth And Children, sometime in late '97, and gave a copy of it to my neighbor. It was originally a letter I had written to my great grandmother as a witness of salvation.
Seeing the opportunity for me to do something on the web like he does, my dad suggested that I have a little corner on his web site, then called Endtime Discussion Group Exchange, (EDGE), called the Kids Corner. Being as I was only seven years old, my dad, of course, would do the web design and the general site layout.
So, after making the general look of the web site, which was a dark blue with a blue flag, Teddy Bear, and Kids Corner sign, my dad and I edited Truth And Children, and it became my very first web-published article . . . "Have You Accepted The Lord Yet?"
After awhile, me and my dad decided that the definite name of this site would be called Kids Christian Corner. So the site grew and grew, and finally had a total of about 10 articles by mid 2000.
Then I decided to try some HTML of my own. I had been watching my dad a lot, and I thought that doing that kind of stuff was pretty cool! So, using the original code my dad had made, using Adobe Photoshop v6.0, I made my own graphics and changed the layout. The teddy bear remained the same, as well as the sign, but I changed the flag, and the colors were now light purple.
Then, during September of this year, (2002), I decided to try something different. Something that would grab the interest of young pre-teens my age, around 11-13. I originally thought of a black "science" kind of layout with frames. Then I tried a soft blue and white. And finally, I decided that since iFrames looks pretty neat, I'd try that.
So, on October 5, 2002, I started the work which took two days. From the fifth to the sixth of 10/02.
I can't go without saying that without the help of my dad, I wouldn't have been able to do this. He provided the images on this web site, (except for the enter image), got a hold of the JavaScript, and did the enter page for me. So kudos to you, dad!
Last but not least, the most important thing I have to say. Without the inspiration of the Lord Jesus Christ, this web site would not be here today. I thank God for giving me the inspiration to create a web site just for kids.
So, from a little 12-year-old like me, and on behalf of all the teens out there, Thank You, God!
