Do You Have The Real Treasure?

By Chica4Jesus

Do you want to know what the real treasure is? If you do,
you might be very interested in reading this article.

Have you ever been on a treasure hunt? If you have, then you
know that you need a treasure map in order to find the
treasure. Well, it's the same thing with the Bible and
Eternal Life. The Bible is our Treasure Map, and Eternal
Life and the Kingdom of Heaven is the Treasure. In order to
receive Eternal Life, you have to read the Scriptures and
understand them by comparing Verse with Verse. Here is a
verse to help you to understand what I mean:

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a
field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for
joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth
that field." (Matthew 13:44)

That means that Eternal Life is like Treasure which is hid
in a field, and a man found it and wanted it, so he sold
everthing that he had in order to buy that field. Here are
some more verses which talk about Treasures in Heaven:

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth
and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and
steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where
neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not
break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there
will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:19-21)

That means that we shouldn't think about treasures on Earth,
because the robbers can just steal it! So we should think
about our rewards in HEAVEN, where the robbers cannot steal.
Here are some more verses which talk about the field where
the Treasure is hidden:

"Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom
of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his
field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares
among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was
sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares
also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto
him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from
whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath
done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that
we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye
gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of
harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first
the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather
the wheat into my barn...Then Jesus sent the multitude away,
and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him,
saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the
field. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the
good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the
good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are
the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is
the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the
reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered
and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this
world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they
shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and
them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace
of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then
shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of
their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."
(Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43)

"And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the
four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
(Matthew 24:31)

"And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a
loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy
sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for
the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the
cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was
reaped." (Revelation 14:15-16)

As you can see, the wheat, or grains, are we Christians, and
the tares are the people who don't believe in Jesus. The
Lord tells His Angels to let the Christians and the
unbelievers live together in the world until the time of the
Harvest when Jesus returns. The householder is Jesus Christ,
while the enemy who planted the tares is the devil! Here are
a few more verses that talk about we Christians being the
householder who finds new treasures in the Word of God which
we have hid in our hearts. Remember, Jesus said that where
our treasure is, there will our heart be also:

"Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is
instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man
that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his
treasure things new and old." (Matthew 13:52)

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin
against thee." (Psalms 119:11)

"The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of
gold and silver." (Psalms 119:72)

The verse from Matthew also means that the scribe, or
writer, has to be guided by God's Spirit of Wisdom in order
to know what to write, or else he or she might write
something that isn't exactly right. Here is another story
which Jesus told that talks about the Seed of God' Word
being planted in all different kinds of hearts, which are
the fields of the Earth:

"And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying,
Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed, some
seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured
them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not
much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had
no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were
scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and
choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought
forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some
thirtyfold...Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and
understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and
catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he
which received seed by the way side. But he that received
the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the
word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root
in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or
persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is
offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he
that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the
deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh
unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground
is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which
also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold,
some sixty, some thirty." (Matthew 13:3-8, 18-23)

If we accept God's Word into our hearts, and believe in
Jesus, and tell others about Him, we are like the good
ground on which the Seed falls. People who don't let God
plant the Treasure of His Seed in their hearts, are like the
other kinds of ground. Here are three more verses which tell
us that we are not supposed to preach about ourselves; we
are supposed to preach about Jesus. He is the Light of God's
Truth which shines in our hearts. He is also the Living Word
of God. He is the Treasure which lives in our hearts. Our
hearts are the 'earthen vessels' that Paul is talking about.
They are the same as the fields I talked about earlier:

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and
ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who
commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in
our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory
of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this
treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the
power may be of God, and not of us." (2 Corinthians 4:5-7)

So, because the Treasure is really the Spirit of Jesus
Christ, the Living Word, which lives in our hearts, we need
to make sure that we are shining His Light, and not our own.
This is why Jesus said that the Kingdom of Heaven is within
us, or inside of us:

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an
hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put
it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light
unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine
before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify
your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:14-16)

"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold,
the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21)

Here are some more verses which explain that God's Kingdom
and Spirit are within our hearts, and that He uses us, or
our bodies, as His vessels to shine His Truth, or to
witness, to others:

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy
Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not
your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify
God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
(1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

I hope that this article has been a blessing to you, and
that it has helped you to understand the Special Treasure
which we have in our hearts.
