The Lord's Wonderful Verse Patterns
By Chica4Jesus
Hi! This is an article that talks about patterns.
Think about what Isaiah said:
"For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a
little:" (Isaiah 28:10)
Here is another verse to share with you:
"And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was
showed thee in the mount." (Exodus 25:40)
Did you know that when you put line upon line upon line that
you can make a pattern? Yes, you sure can. It's like the
blocks are the verses. Here is a story that I learned (my
own story) that can help you understand what I mean.
***** The Pattern *****
One day I came home from school and asked my dad how verses
fit together. He asked me to give him my pattern I had made
out of strips of construction paper. So I gave it to him,
and he said that the pink strips are like the verses. When
you put the strips in the right place, you will see a
pattern. He also said that if I, (even you), put line upon
line, I, (even you), can make a pattern. Here are three
verses which show an example of a pattern in the Bible:
"But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among
the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth
unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth
have been from of old, from everlasting." (Micah 5:2)
"And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it
is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land
of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for
out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people
Israel." (Matthew 2:5-6)
What these verses have in common is that Micah 5:2 is a
prophecy about Jesus being born in Bethelem of Judea; and
Matthew 2:5 is the fulfillment of the prophecy. (That means
that the thing which had been spoken, finally happened.) You
see how the numbers are just reversed? (That means that they
are backwards, or the opposite of each other). This is just
one example of a pattern between the Old Testament and the
New Testament. I hope you have enjoyed what I have just
shared with you!
