DEAR TEACHER : STANDING UP FOR OUR CHILDREN'S RIGHTS

A Form Letter Of Protest To Be Used By Concerned
Christian Parents With School-Age Children
The following is an actual letter which I wrote for a
teacher in our local school system. I am making it available
for those Christian parents who would like to express their
concerns to their child's teacher, but who may not know what
to say, or who may feel lacking in their writing skills. The
original letter has been revised so that you the parent can
do some simple editing on your computer, and fill in the
appropriate information for your particular situation.
Please make sure that you also change all of the
son/daughter, his/her, and him/her phrases where necessary.
Before submitting such a letter to your school, I strongly
advise you to pray and to count the cost first in order to
make sure that you and your child have the faith and
spiritual perseverance to endure whatever might come your
way as a result of making such an assault on the Devil's
territory. This is very Scriptural advice, for as Jesus
said:
"For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not
down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have
sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the
foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it
begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was
not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against
another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether
he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against
him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a
great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth
conditions of peace." (Luke 14:28-32)
It is also important that you sit down with your child or
children first and discuss this letter with them. While we
all want to protect our children as much as possible from
the anti-God influences of the public school environment, we
must also realize that, in the end, they are the ones who
will feel the brunt of the effect of the actions we take to
protect their rights and Christian heritage. They are the
ones who will have to deal with peer pressure, possible
ridicule, or other actions taken by non-believing children
and adults at their school. In my case, I allowed my child
to read the letter first to make sure that we were in
agreement regarding its contents, as well as about
submitting it to the school. If your child doesn't have the
faith for it, or demonstrates the least amount of doubt or
hesitation, then perhaps you shouldn't submit the following
letter, or a revised version thereof.
Prior to filling out this letter, you may wish to read the

discussed in this article. If you have the faith for it, you
may even wish to print out the article and give a copy of it
to the teacher in question; but I must advise you that it is
strongly worded!

Saturday November 1, 1997
Dear _________________________,
Today my son/daughter informed me that he/she is supposed to
read the _________ chapter of her science book called
_________________________. While he/she was reading it, I
went over to see what the chapter was about. I was quite
disappointed to discover that you are teaching my
son/daughter things which are clearly against our Christian
beliefs. Perhaps you may not be aware of it, so please allow
me to inform you that we are fundamentalist Christians. This
means that we accept the Bible as the inspired unerring Word
and Truth of God. This includes the account of Creation in
the Book of Genesis. The reason we believe this is because
God says so, and that is all that we need to know. As far as
we are concerned, God's Word stands above all of the
doctrines and teachings of men. The Bible informs us that
God has esteemed, or magnified, His Word above His very name
as is made clear in the following verse:
"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name
for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast
magnified thy word above all thy name." (Psalms 138:2)
With that in mind, please allow me to briefly share with you
some of our positions concerning certain modern beliefs and
practices as they relate to the Bible:
EVOLUTION AND DINOSAUR AGE:
Because of our strict adherence to the Word of God, we
wholeheartedly reject many things being taught by science
and the modern public school system. This includes the false
THEORY of EVILution and everything associated with it. This
includes the millions-of-years scenario, the idea that
humankind evolved from apes and other lower lifeforms, the
pre-human dinosaur age, etc. In the Bible, the Apostle Paul
refers to this as 'science falsely so called' because it is
not the wisdom which comes from God; it is the foolish
babblings of vain, proud, rebellious men who have rejected
God and His Holy Word:
"O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust,
avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of
science falsely so called:" (Timothy 6:20)
In speaking on another issue, the Apostle James made the
following comment which can also be applied to the teaching
of EVILution and other false ideas taught in our modern
public school system:
"This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly,
sensual, devilish." (James 3:15)
We find an interesting parallel to the belief in EVILution,
and the literal worship of skeletons of supposed dinosaurs,
etc., in the ancient Roman idolatrous worship of images and
statues of birds and four-footed beasts:
"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as
God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their
imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And
changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image
made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted
beasts, and creeping things...Who changed the truth of God
into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than
the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen."
(Romans 1:21-23, 25)
About seven hundred years before this, the Prophet Jeremiah
also chided ancient Israel for worshipping things taken from
nature:
"Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou
hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto
me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble
they will say, Arise, and save us." (Jeremiah 2:27)
"And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom,
that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with
stones and with stocks." (Jeremiah 3:9)
"But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a
doctrine of vanities." (Jeremiah 10:8)
As can be seen, this idea of worshipping creation, or
nature, is something which has been going on for literally
thousands of years; and it continues today, albeit in a more
subtle form known as modern science. Because of our beliefs,
I must insist that you IMMEDIATELY desist from polluting my
son's/daughter's mind with these lies of modern science. You
may not be aware of it, but not only are you confusing my
son/daughter, but you are also calling God a liar, and His
Word a lie by teaching these things which are in direct
contradiction to the Bible. Please consider these verses:
"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of
man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not
do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"
(Numbers 23:19)
"God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as
it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy
sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged."
(Romans 3:4)
"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie,
promised before the world began;" (Titus 1:2)
BALANCED TEACHING:
If you are not prepared to also teach your students the
story of Creation from the Bible, then you are unfairly
educating them, as you are only giving them man's version of
the truth and NOT God's version of The Truth. This is a
false balance of which the Lord does not approve:
"A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just
weight is his delight." (Proverbs 11:1)
"Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a
false balance is not good." (Proverbs 20:23)
By teaching such things as EVILution in your classroom, you
are placing a stumbling block, a rock of offence, in the way
of the children, thus causing them to become confused, and
to fall away from The Truth found in the Word of God:
"And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in
the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except
ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not
enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall
humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in
the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such
little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend
one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better
for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and
that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the
world because of offences! for it must needs be that
offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence
cometh!" (Matthew 18:2-7)
"Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge
this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion
to fall in his brother's way." (Romans 14:13)
In the above Scriptures, the two words 'offences' and
'stumblingblock' are derived from two different Greek words,
'skandalon' and 'proskomma', which share a common meaning of
stumbling block or offence; that is, something which causes
one to stumble and fall away from The Truth. This is exactly
what you are doing when you teach such things as EVILution.
Such teachings cause children to doubt God's Holy Word, the
Bible. As Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew, they that
cause such things are going to have a heavy price to pay,
especially if they know they are doing it.
SANTA CLAUS AND EASTER BUNNY:
We totally reject the concepts of Santa Claus and the Easter
Bunny. They are lies and cheap substitutes for The Truth
found in God's Word. According to Roman Catholic tradition,
Christmas is supposed to be the day in which the world
commemorates the Birth of our Saviour; just as Easter is
supposed to be the day that the world celebrates His
Resurrection. As many sincere Christians already know, while
Christ's Birth and Resurrection are indeed fundamental
elements of our Faith, the actual dates of these events are
lost to history. Because of this, the holidays many
worldwide celebrate today are based upon two ancient pagan
festivals which were 'Christianized' by the Catholic 'church
fathers' who compromised with ancient Rome. The Christmas
holiday is based upon a festival of the winter solstice; a
worship of the sun, and Easter is based upon a festival of
the worship of the ancient goddess Ashtoreth, also known as
Astarte or Ishtar, the wife of the pagan god Baal. Because
of these distortions of The Truth, I must insist that you do
not ask or force my son/daughter to sing songs about, or to
color pictures of Santa Claus, Rudolph the red-nosed
reindeer, the Easter Bunny, or other such silliness related
to these occasions. By doing so, you are going against my
wishes, and confusing my child concerning his/her Christian
heritage.
HALLOWEEN:
We do not celebrate Halloween as it is another pagan holiday
to glorify darkness and the works of Satan. As such, please
do not expect my son/daughter to come to school dressed as a
witch or goblin on that day. I may even opt for keeping
him/her home.
CANDY AND SWEETS:
As much as is possible, I do not want anyone, be they
teacher or school friend, giving candy to my son/daughter at
any time during the school year. Eating such things during
school hours when he/she cannot even brush his/her teeth, or
at the very least rinse out his/her mouth, can easily cause
cavities. If we truly love our children, we will all do what
we can to limit their intake of sweets. Not only that, but
if my son/daughter does develop cavities from candy and
sweets he/she is given at school, as his/her parent, I am
the one who has to take him/her to the dentist's office, and
not the school.
CONCLUSION:
Now that you are aware of these things, I trust that you
will RESPECT my son's/daughter's beliefs by giving him/her
other things to do or to read which are not related to any
of the areas I have mentioned above. I appreciate your

As you can see, this is a very to-the-point letter. If there
are certain things you do not wish to say, simply edit them
out. Whatever you do or say, it must be according to your,
and your child's faith, and NOT according to mine. I am
merely providing this as an example for you to use or
follow. I trust it will be a blessing to you and to many
other concerned Christian parents worldwide.
