| The very best way to log on to the Armageddon Christian BBS -- which we strongly encourage -- is by using a telent client; (see instructions below); however, you can also connect to the Armageddon Christian BBS using this java-based web interface. In order to log onto the Armageddon Christian BBS using this web interface, first make certain that you can see the entire terminal area, (the black window), below this text. Then, simply click anywhere in the blue terminal box to initiate the connection with the Armageddon Christian BBS. |
| The Armageddon Christian BBS is operated by the WordWeaver. Please contact him if you encounter any problems accessing the BBS via this webpage. As noted above, you can also access the Armageddon Christian BBS by using a regular telnet client, which is the preferred connection method. If you are interested in using a free telnet client, you may want to consider using SyncTERM, as it is cross-platform, and is available for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and other OS's. To download the latest Macintosh version of SyncTERM from the developer's web site, please click here. Once you get there, scroll down the page until you see the link for "OS X (Universal Binary)". If you encounter any problems while using the Macintosh version of SyncTERM, please contact its author, Stephen Hurd. You can also consider posting a message describing the specific details of your problem, in the "SyncTERM Support Forum" on the Armageddon Christian BBS. I will try to assist you if I have time. You can also download a Macintosh SyncTERM help file by clicking here. Thanks! If you are using Tiger or Leopard on a Mac OSX system, and prefer a sleeker, Mac OSX graphical user interface, with a lot more features than SyncTERM, you should seriously consider using ZOC. Unlike SyncTERM, ZOC is not free, and comes with a hefty price tag of $80.00 at this current time, but it is a very nice telnet client if you can afford it. Please click here in order to download the current version of ZOC from the developer's website. It will run in demo mode for about 30 days. If you are on a Leopard or Snow Leopard machine, you can also use the Terminal application -- found in the "Utilities" folder -- in order to connect to our BBS. To download a special Terminal settings file which will allow the OSX Terminal to properly display BBS PC-ANSI graphics, please click here. A help file is included in the zipped archive. Sadly, it appears that the Terminal application that is included with earlier versions of Mac OS -- i.e., Puma, Jaguar, Panther and Tiger -- is not capable of properly displaying PC-ANSI graphics. I suspect that this is because it does not include the "Latin-US (DOS)" encoding. However, for Tiger users, there is another free alternative called iTerm. I successfully use iTerm to log onto our BBS from another machine on our LAN. To download the latest version of iTerm from the developer's website, please click here. If you need help setting up iTerm, please visit message forum #4 on the Armageddon Christian BBS -- "Ask For BBS Help". I have posted a message there with all of the necessary settings. Thanks! If you are still working in a Classic Mac environment, (Mac OS 9 or earlier), we recommend that you use the Public Address BBS software in telnet mode in order to connect to the Armageddon Christian BBS. Similar to ZOC, SyncTERM, and iTerm, Public Address will also fully and properly display PC-ANSI graphics. You can download a special stripped down version of Public Address from our web server by clicking here. Instructions are included with the downloaded .sit archive. If you already have ZOC, SyncTERM, iTerm, Public Address or another PC-ANSI graphics capable telnet client installed on your computer, and have it set up as the default telnet application for your web browser, please click here to launch it now. You can also click the Armageddon Christian BBS image that is located at the top of this page. If you haven't set up your web browser yet, then see the instructions below for Firefox and Safari. |
How To Set Up Firefox And Safari To Telnet With An App Other Than The Terminal :
If you wish to access the Armageddon Christian BBS at a later date using a telnet client, please use the domain name endtimeprophecy.net, along with the standard telnet port of 23. The advantage of using a telnet client, is that unlike this web access page, ZOC, SyncTERM, iTerm, Public Address and the Mac OSX Terminal app offer the user more control over his BBS experience, and supports such features as flashing ANSI graphics, scrollback mode and various other very useful features which are not available via this web page. Also, you cannot download files from our BBS via this web interface. You can download SyncTERM for other platforms, such as Windows, by clicking here. ZOC is also available for the Windows platform. Please click here for the Windows version. If you are interested in learning more about the history of the Armageddon Christian BBS, click here to be taken to an article about our online presence. The Armageddon Christian BBS web access page is hosted on the Endtime Prophecy Net web server. Please consider visiting us. Thank-you! |
